I'tikaf in a Masjid

Salam... How are you? Not bad , Thanks!. Yeah, I'm a bit slow while typing these words, coz been long time not publishing a REAL decent original post. Lazy? Maybe..love lazying around, looks stupid, naive etc. Aha. I've got a story to tell but don't know how to write. I'm not a kind of person who like to tell things, and not even a good story teller. Hmm.. how to begin?...

Last month after came back to HERE from THERE, I want to borrow a car, owned by  a friend to attend a farewell dinner at 7pm, invited by a Turkish couple(the wife is my wife's studymate, going back to Turkey for good)..., (I've sold my car to a mechanic just for$500 bucks, cheap but yeah, what to do, I ain't got enough money to repair it). Anyway, the friend is a postgraduate student from my home country, specializing in chemistry & his research deals with nano stuffs etc. He is active in doing da'wah here and there as well. When he came by, he came along with a guy seemed very familiar looking to me. It reminded me about my senior in early days of my Uni times, years ago. The thing that made me thought he was really my senior, was a prominent and clear dark marks @ prayer bum on his forehead(outer skin of frontalis muscle, anterior view), due to prolonged prostration or sujud in praying. I said to myself, yes I'm sure this is him. Then I approached him and just before my first word came out from my mouth, he said " oh...you look bigger than before, nearly I'm not recognize you". Ahaks...

Am I big before? and now bigger? or Am I a thin fellow and now getting bigger and bigger? but none of these questions came out at that time. With a brown batik trousers and just a sweat smell T-shirt, I followed him to a nearby musolla and had a chit chat. After a few minutes of short but compact conversation, he tasykil me to join them, went out to the path of Allah for 3 days. Yeah, since I'm keep on  postponing my intention for this, with the word InsyaAllah, I agreed to join them. Alhamdulillah, finally I went out to Mirabooka mosque for 3 days to learn how to make da'wah. Newbie or rookie like me, there is a lot of things to learn.

" A day of i'tikaf, Allah will put you away from hell for a distance of 3 trenches. The width of a trench is like the distance between the sky and the earth."

We can give numbers about the distance, we know the sky & the earth have 7 layers, & clearly No human being has ever landed on the moon. So the moon is located at what layer of the sky?  We also know only Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon Him, about 1400 + years ago is the only person that has ever and forever, went to sidratul muntaha, above all of the layers of the sky, met Allah in regards of 5 times Obligatory prayer, in the night of Isra' and Mi'raj, not wearing any special costume or uniform like the astronaut & with no oxygen tank. Think!...Oh my brain, can I use you to think?....

Fear Of Allah

The Prophet (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) says:

"The face that gets wet with the smallest drop of tear from the fear of Allah is safe from entrance

into the fire of Hell."

He also said:

"When a Muslim shivers with the fear of Allah, his sins fall away from him like the falling leaves

of a tree."

The dear Prophet (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) has said:

"A person weeping with fear of Allah cannot go to Hell until milk goes back into the teats(which is

 an impossibility)".

Hadhrat Uqbah bin Amir (Radhiyallahu anhu) once inquired of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam).

"What is the way to salvation?"

He replied: "Hold your tongue, stay indoors and cry over your sins."

Hadhrat A'ishah (Radhiyallahu anha) once inquired of the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam).

"Is there anybody among your followers who will go to

Paradise without reckoning?"

"Yes," replied the Prophet, "the person who often cries over his sins."

There is another Hadith, in which my dear Master, Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) has said:

"No drop is more dear to Allah than two drops; a drop of tear

shed in the fear of Allah, and a drop of blood shed in the path of Allah."

It is said in a Hadith that seven persons would be under the shade of the Arsh on the day of

judgement. One of them would be the person who remembered Allah when all alone by himself,

and tears flowed from his eyes with awe of Allah and in repentance for his sins.

Hadhrat Abu Bakr (Radhiyallahu anhu) says:

"One who can weep should do so, and one who cannot should

make the appearance of a weeping person."

It is reported of Muhammad bin Munkadir (Radhiyallahu anhu) that, when he wept, he smeared his tears

over his face and beard saying:

"I have heard that the fire of Hell does not touch the place

touched by these tears."

Thabit Banani was suffering from a disease of the eyes. His doctor said to him:

"Your eyes would be all right, provided you do not weep in

future."
He replied: "What is the good of an eye if it cannot shed tears."

Allah knows the best!

Bilal ibn Rabah

(Arabic: بلال بن رباح‎) or Bilal al-Habeshi was a Habeshan born in Mecca in the late 6th century, sometime between 578 and 582.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) chose Bilal as his muezzin, effectively making him the first official muezzin of the Islamic faith. He was among the slaves freed by Muhammad and was known for his beautiful voice with which he called people to their prayers. His name can also be spelled as, "Bilal ibn Riyah" or "ibn Rabah" and he is sometimes known as "Bilal al-Habashi" or "Bilal the Ethiopian". He died sometime between 638 to 642, dying when he was just over sixty years old.

Bilal Ibn Rabah, was an emancipated slave of key importance in Islam. He is said to have been one of the most trusted and loyal companions of Muhammad and was one of Ali's earliest and most loyal followers. His respected stature during the birth of Islam is often cited by Muslims as evidence of the importance of pluralism and racial equality in the foundations of the religion.
According to Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Zaid went to Muhammad with his story and Muhammad, approving, told him to ask an Ethiopian named Bilal, who had a marvelous voice, to call the Muslims to prayer. As Ibn Ishaq told the story (in Albert Guillaume's translation):

When the Apostle was told of this he said that it was a true vision if God so willed it, and that he should go to Bilal and communicate it to him so that he might call to prayer thus, for he had a more penetrating voice. When Bilal acted as muezzin, Umar I, who later became the second caliph, heard him in his house and came to the Apostle... saying that he had seen precisely the same vision. The Apostle said 'God be praised for that!'

Though slightly different versions of the story exist, all agree that Islam's first muezzin was Bilal.

One version states that one of the slaves of Ummaya, a terrible foe of Islam and Muhammad, was named Bilal. Bilal learnt about Muhammad and his teachings and became Muslim, but kept his belief in secret. However, his master Ummaya came to know that he had opted to be a Muslim. So he started punishing him. He ordered his slaves to make him lay on the hot sand and put heavy stones on his body so that he could not move. He continued to purnish him day and night but despite the punishments this great lover of Islam and Muhammad just preferred to say only one thing (only one God, only one God). Soon news of this slave reached some of Muhammad's companions who told Muhammad of a slave. Muhammad then sent Abu Baker to buy Bilal's freedom from Ummayah (Bilal's slave master). Muhammad later learned of Bilal's unique way of praying and unique voice with which he spoke from the soul and as a result of this Bilal became the first muezzin.

Later on, some people suggested that this honour should be given to someone else, because Bilal could not pronounce the Arabic letter 'sheen' properly and instead used the letter 'seen' (the two sounds had merged in "s" in classical Ge'ez). Muhammad said, "The 'sin' of Bilal is 'shin' in the hearing of God," meaning that God does not see the physical manifestation; he appreciates the purity of heart. Bilal felt deep love for Muhammad, and he is quoted as reciting some lines of poetry in his own language, Ethiopian, in the praise of Muhammad. Hassan bin Thabit al-Ansari has translated it into Arabic:

"When noble traits are described in our country, thou art pointed out as a model among us."
In 622, the year of the Hijra, Bilal migrated to Medina and over the next decade accompanied Muhammad on all his military expeditions, and according to Islamic tradition, serving as the Muhammad's mace-bearer and steward, and as a muezzin revered by Muslims for his majestically sonorous renditions of the adhan. Bilal also carried Muhammad's spear, which was used from 624 onward to point the direction of prayer.

He fought in the Battle of Badr, in the aftermath of which he killed his former master, Umayah ibn Khalaf, in spite of the protestation of Umayah's capturer and long-time friend Abd-al-Rahman ibn Awf. Bilal was also present in all of the major events and battles, including the battles of Uhud and Battle of the Trench.

Bilal's finest hour came in January 630, on an occasion regarded as one of the most hallowed moments in Islamic history. After the Muslim forces had captured Mecca, Muhammad's muezzin ascended to the top of the Ka'ba to call the believers to prayer - the first time the call to prayer was heard within Islam's holiest city.

Abu Bakar Ash-Shiddiq Radhyiallahu 'anhu (wafat 13 H)

Abu Bakar Ash-Shiddiq Radhyiallahu 'anhu (wafat 13 H)

Nama lengkap beliau adalah Abdullah bin Utsman bin Amir bin Amru bin Ka`ab bin Sa`ad bin Taim bin Murrah bin Ka`ab bin Lu`ai bin Ghalib bin Fihr al-Qurasy at-Taimi – radhiyallahu`anhu.

Maulidurrasul or Birthday of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, Is it a day for rememberance?

First and foremost, I'm not an expert to comment on the topic, thus this is just my opinion and should not be used as reference. Any problem in regards to the topic, please kindly refer and ask any recognized Muslim scholars.

I start with the name of Almighty Allah and Allahummashollia'la Muhammad wa a'la alihi washohbihi wasallim and Oh Allah, all praises are upon Muhammad, his family and companions.

I grew up in a small town in Red Giant state called Sg. Big, which has sufficient facilities to supply for a few hundreds family in the surrounding area. It has a main mosque call Masjid Makmuriah and other small musolla or praying house in every small villages nearby. Sounds religious town isn't it? Yeah, the majority nearly 99% of the population is Malay and they all Muslim. Like in the book titled The Travels of Marco Polo said, if he managed to pass through my town, he surely will said " All the villagers are idolaters, they worship Mahomet(Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him)".I'm positive he will said so.

What is so special about Muhammad Peace be Upon Him? When I was 7, my parents bought a book titled Collection of Selawat of Muhammad Peace be Upon Him. Roughly the book contains 99 Selawat and their benefits to the life here and hereafter. After spending a few hours reading the book, I concluded and decided to at least recite a selawat a day, because by reciting once, Allah will do selawat upon us 10 times, by giving forgiving our sins, increases our good deeds and at least put us among people who love to praise His beloved prophet Muhammad Peacebe upon him. I as a stubborn boy at that time, knew that my ustazah at primary school always said a person who has committed a sin must repent, if not he will be burnt in the hellfire before being put into the paradise.

I will put the a story of hell and paradise in the future InsyaAllah. What do you think a cute little boy but stubborn and handsome like me will think? You don't know right unless I tell you but you can make an intelligent assumption like my lecturer always said.

If you do a committed a sin, you will be given bad deed but nothing given if it just an intention to do bad things. However if you performed a good things, you will be rewarded 10 good deeds. Mathematically, 10 good deeds minus 1 bad deed is equivalent to 9 good deeds, if 1 good deed neutralizes 1 bad deed. So, as a stubborn and a bit naugthy boy, I thought the rewards by reciting a Selawat is far too generous, and not included other type of Selawat which has hundreds to thousands good deeds given per recitation. This is definitely infinite generousity which of course it is from Allah Almighty, the King of the King.

Oh, I come back to my question in previous paragraph, as I remember(correct me if I'm wrong) when the first human, Prophet Adam 'Alaihissalam ate a forbidden fruit in the paradise, he was punished by Allah and was kicked out from the heaven to the earth. Everyday, he pray to Allah for forgiveness, but Allah ignored but oneday, which was 40 years later, suddenly by the permission of Allah, an idea just clicked in Adam's mind and he pray 'Oh Allah, forgive my sin by the blessing of Muhammad Peace be Upon Him'. Immediately, Allah granted his prayer and the sin was forgiven. Allah asked Adam, ' How do you know about Muhammad peace be Upon Him?'. Adam
answered ' I just remembered while I was walking in heaven, I saw Muhammad's name was located side by side with your name. So, I thought he must be special'. Allah replied: 'Muhammad is the last prophet from your descendent'.

Why Muhammad so special? As I remember, when Muhammad Peace be Upon Him was ordered to see Allah for determination of 5 praying times, he used a Buraq, heavenly flying horse to reached the highest layer of the sky. The Buraq itself was chosen thousand years before the birth of Muhammad Peace be Upon Him. As according to Muslim scholars, when Muhammad Peace be upon Him see Allah at that night of Isra' Mikraj, he entered the Arash of Allah with his daily shoes. My meaning of daily shoes is the shoes he use everyday. My point about the shoes is, We as normal(if you are normal) human being, when attending special occasion with so many protocols especially royal function, we ususally use special shoes, not our daily shoes. In the case of daily shoes belonged to Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, his shoes has the sweat and smell of Muhammad Peace be Upon Him' s foot(as we know all the excess or secretion came out from Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, are noble) and futhermore at that time he already made dakwah, asking the Arabs to worship none but the Almighty Allah only. Thus this made he himself who is already known as not just the Messenger and lover of Allah just noble, but even higher rank of noble class than that. Therefore his shoes is noble and can enter the 'Arash of Allah. Not our shoes you know. When the body Muhammad Peace be Upon Him bled, his companions will quickly rush to eat the blood as whose body contains the blood of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will not be touched by the hellfire. When Muhammad Peace be upon Him performing an ablution prior to prayer, his ablution water which of course contains his sweat will be drank by his companions. There were so many stories about these. Please ask Muslim scholars.

Are you so special until the people around you will be competing to drink your sweat? Tell me if you got one today.

Have you ever heard saying about whoever practices the sunnah or daily practices of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will rewarded a good deed as equal to syahid, who died in path of Allah or in another saying it is equal to 100 good deeds of the syahid, in which a syahid, will be enter the paradise easily without judgement?

So, from now onwards, I ask myself to recorrect whatever should be corrected in regards to the practices of the Sunnah, then I called Maulidurrasul celebration.

today's friday sermon talked about this....

If We had caused this Qur'an to descend upon a mountain, thou (O Muhammad) verily hadst seen it humbled, rent asunder by the fear of Allah. Such similitudes coin We for mankind that haply they may reflect. (21) He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible. He is the Beneficent, Merciful. (22) He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him). (23) He is Allah, the Creator, the Shaper out of naught, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifieth Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (24)

Even what is stolen from us is Sadaqa

Jabir also reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "No Muslim plants something without what is eaten from it being sadaqa for him. Even what is stolen from it is sadaqa for him. And no one visits it without that being sadaqa for him." [Muslim]

My times, adakah aku telah manfaatkan segala untuk mendapatkan keredhoan Pencipta Alam?

What should I do to face this upcoming time as mentioned in the hadith below?

Please read this hadith...

Amir b. Sharahil Sha'bi Sha'b Hamdan reported that he asked Fatima, daughter of Qais and sister of ad-Dahhak b. Qais and she was the first amongst the emigrant women: Narrate to me a hadith which you had heard directly from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and there is no extra link in between them. She said: Very well, if you like, I am prepared to do that, and he said to her: Well, do It and narrate that to me. She said: I married the son of Mughira and he was a chosen young man of Quraish at that time, but he fell as a martyr in the first Jihad (fighting) on the side of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). When I became a widow, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Auf, one amongst the group of the Companions of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), sent me the proposal of marriage. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) also sent me such a message for his freed slave Usama b. Zaid. And it had been conveyed to me that Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) had said (about Usama): He who loves me should also love Usima. When Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) talked to me (about this matter), I said: My affairs are in your hand. You may marry me to anyone whom you like. He said: You better shift now to the house of Umm Sharik, and Umm Sharik was a rich lady from amongst the Anqir. She spent generously for the cause of Allah and entertained guests very hospitably. I said: Well, I will do as you like. He said: Do not do that for Umm Sharik is a woman who is very frequently vizited by guests and I do not like that your head may be uncovered or the cloth may be removed from your shank and the strangers may catch sight of them which you abhor. You better shift to the house of your cousin 'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. Umm Maktum and he is a person of the Bani Fihr branch of the Quraish, and he belonged to that tribe (to which F5tiina) belonged. So I shifted to that house, and when my period of waiting was over, I heard the voice of an announcer making an announcement that the prayer would be observed in the mosque (where) congregational prayer (is observed). So I set out towards that mosque and observed prayer along with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and I was in the row of the women which was near the row of men. When Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had finished his prayer, he sat on the pulpit smiling and said: Every worshipper should keep sitting at his place. He then said: Do you know why I had asked you to assemble? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: By Allah. I have not made you assemble for exhortation or for a warning, but I have detained you here, for Tamim Dari, a Christian, who came and accepted Islam, told me something, which agrees with what I was-telling, yuu about the Dajjal. He narrated to me that he had sailed in a ship along with thirty men of Bani Lakhm and Bani Judham and had been tossed by waves in the ocean for a month. Then these (waves) took them (near) the land within the ocean (island) at the time of sunset. They sat in a small side-boat and entered that Island. There was a beast with long thick hair (and because of these) they could not distinguish his face from his back. They said: Woe to you, who can you be? Thereupon it said: I am al-Jassasa. They said: What is al-Jassasa? And it said: O people, go to this person in the monastery as he is very much eager to know about you. He (the narrator) said: When it named a person for us we were afraid of it lest it should be a Devil. Then we hurriedly went on till we came to that monastery and found a well-built person there with his hands tied to his neck and having iron shackles between his two legs up to the ankles. We said: Woe be upon thee, who are you? And he said: You would soon come to know about me. but tell me who are you. We said: We are people from Arabia and we embarked upon a boat but the sea-waves had been driving us for one month and they brought as near this island. We got Into the side-boats and entered this island and here a beast met us with profusely thick hair and because of the thickness of his hair his face could not be distinguished from his back. We said: Woe be to thee, who are you? It said: I am al- Jassasa. We said: What is al-Jassasa? And it said: You go to this very person in the monastery for he is eagerly waiting for you to know about you. So we came to you in hot haste fearing that that might be the Devil. He (that chained person) said: Tell me about the date-palm trees of Baisan. We &aid: About what aspect of theirs do you seek information ? He said: I ask you whether these trees bear fruit or not. We said: Yes Thereupon he said: I think these would not bear fruits. He said: Inform me about the lake of Tabariyya? We said: Which aspect of it do you want to know? He said: Is there water in it? They said: There is abundance of water in it. Thereupon he said: I think it would soon become dry. He again said: Inform me about the spring of Zughar. They said: Which aspect of it you want to know? He (the chained person) said: Is there water in it and does it irrigate (the land) ? We said to him: Yes, there is abundance of water in it and the inhabitants (of Medina) irrigate (land) with the help of it, He said: Inform me about the unlettered Prophet; what has he done? We said: He has come out from Mecca and has settled In Yathrib (Medina). He said: Do the Arabs fight against him? We said: Yes. He said: How did he deal with him? We informed him that he had overcome those in his neighbourhood and they had submitted themselves before him. Thereupon he said to us: Had it actually happened? We said: Yes. Thereupon he said: If it is so that is better for them that they should show obedience to him. I am going to tell you about. myself and I am Dajjal and would be soon permitted to get out and so I shall get out and travel in the land, and will not spare any town where I would not stay for forty nights except Mecca and Medina as these two (places) are prohibited (areas) for me and I would not make an attempt to enter any one of these two. An angel with a sword in his hand would confront me and would bar my way and there would be angels to guard every passage leading to it; then Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) striking the pulpit with the help of the end of his staff said : This implies Taiba meaning Medina. Have I not, told you an account (of the Dajjal) like this?'The people said: Yes, and this account narrated by Tamim Dari was liked by me for it corroborates the account which I gave to you in regard to him (Dajjal) at Medina and Mecca. Behold he (Dajjal) is in the Syrian sea (Mediterranian) or the Yemen sea (Arabian sea). Nay, on the contrary, he As In the east, he is in the east, he is in the east, and he pointed with his hand towards the east. I (Fatima bint Qais) said: I preserved It In my mind (this narration from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him).

Whom you loved?

Anas ibne Malik Radiyallahu 'anhu narrated that indeed a man asked Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam ; When would be the Last Hour O Rasullallah? Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam replied : What have you prepared for it? He replied : I have not preparef for it with much Salat, nor Saum, nir Sadaqah: but I love Allah and His Messenger. He said:(On the day of Resurrection) You will be with those whom you loved(in this world). -Bukhari-

O My slaves!!!

Abu Dhar Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates from Nabi Sallallahu'alaihi wasallam in one of Hadith Qudsi that Allah Tabaraka wa Ta'ala has said : O My slaves! I have indeed made oppression unlawful upon Myself and have made it unlawful for you, so do not oppress one another. O My slaves! All of you are astray, except whom I have guided, so seek guidance from Me, I will guide you. O My slaves! all of you are hungry except whom I have fed, so seek food from Me, I will feed you. O My slaves! All of you are naked, except whom I have clothed, so seek clothing from Me, I will clothe you. O My slaves! Verily you commit errors day and night, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness from Me, I will forgive you. O My slaves! You will not be able to harm Me and succeed in such a purpose and neither will you be able to benefit Me and succeed in such a purpose. O My slaves! Even if the first and last of you, men and jinn, were as piois as the one with the most pious heart amongst you, that would not cause any increase in My Kingdom. O My slaves! Even if the first and last of you, men and jinn were as wicked as the one with the most wicked heart amongst you, that would not cause any decrease in My Kingdom. O My slaves! Even if the first and last of you, men and jinn were to stand in one plain and ask of Me, and I were to give every one what he asked, that would not decrease of what I possess even to the extent of the water which a needle when dipped into the sea can take out from it. O My slaves! They are only your deeds which I put to your account and then pay you in full for them, so he who finds(therein) good, should praise Allah and he who finds otherwise should undoubtedly blame no one but himself, alone".
